Layout mode allows you to control the way your document is displayed and printed. When you select a different layout, you change the way the document will appear, and even the kind of data displayed. Envelopes, for example, usually includes only the Prefix, First and Last Name, Job Title, Company, Department, and the address fields.
New documents in Address Book Plus start with a set of pre-set layouts; Address Book is the default layout. To use a different layout, pull down the Layout menu, select Layout, and choose another one.
Only marked entries appear in Layout mode; you mark your entries in Browse mode. Press Command-T to switch between modes. For more information on marking entries, see the main topic “Marking entries.”
You can modify the default layouts or create new ones in the Define Layouts dialog box, available from the Layout menu. You can also install one or more Layout Library files with still more pre-set layouts. See “Layout Libraries” for more information.
